To become more productive and goal-driven, here are 3 productivity hacks to embrace.

Mind mapping:

Mind mapping is an essential tool that enables one to visualize and analyze concepts. It helps you structure information, analyze, comprehend, synthesize, recall, and generate new ideas through visual thinking.

Mind maps organize information in a manner that is similar to how your brain functions, unlike notes or linear texts. This exercise involves your brain much more deeply than other activities due to its analytical and artistic aspects which enhances all of your cognitive abilities. Additionally, it’s a little entertaining.

You can use mind mapping or a variety of things including creativity stimulation and brainstorming.

2. Delay gratification

Science has long argued that resisting temptation and impulses is more crucial for success in many aspects of life than giving in to them. Unfortunately, you are not born with this trait. To put it another way, delayed gratification is a skill that should be developed.

The “Marshmallow Experiment” is a well-known experiment in this field, however postponing pleasure doesn’t require skipping dessert. For instance, you might decide to wait 10 minutes before getting up to obtain a snack after realizing that you’re hungry. Maybe you decide to visit social media after finishing a significant work assignment.

3. Record your achievements:

People are more productive when they feel successful and accomplished, than when they are discouraged by their progress or doubt their ability to complete a task. It is important to record your daily successes in a journal or an app. It increases productivity and signals to your brain that you are making progress.

This is why several organizations recognize employees, highlight team members’ accomplishments and show appreciation.

In the same vein, use the paper clip strategy to track progress made. Trent Dyrsmid, a rookie stockbroker, became a success with some determination and a clever little trick.

Dyrsmid always had two jars on his desk, one empty, the other filled with 120 paper clips. After he finished a call, he moved a paper clip to another jar. When the once-full jar was empty, he’d call it a day.

This has a visual cue and is a great way to keep track of your progress. The rewards keep you on track and motivate you to get things done.

These actions will help you develop the discipline you’ll need to keep your resolutions in 2023 and beyond. MAX wishes you better productivity.
