  1. Accra

Accra is one of the gorgeous cities we now know very well, and we have discovered that a visit to this great nation is incomplete without a brief tour of Accra.

2. Kumasi

The second-largest city in Ghana is Kumasi, which served as the capital of the country when the Ashanti monarchy was in power. Kumasi, with its crowded streets and expansive market, is a tourist favorite. The location is highly known for its wooden stools, kente cloth, and gold jewelry. Due to the variety of craft stores and locations in the city, those who appreciate shopping will enjoy this site. If someone is interested in learning more about the history of the Ashanti Kingdom, they should travel to the Manhiya Palace Museum.

3. St. George’s Castle

Fishing is one of the most common occupations for individuals everywhere there is access to the ocean. Similar to it, the fishing community of Elmina in Ghana is home to the old St. George’s Castle. One of the few historical sites in Ghana that you should not skip visiting is this one. The fortress was constructed by the Portuguese in 1482 and has whitewashed walls. Due to its connections to the slave trade, it has a somber past because slaves were kept in the present-day prisons. One should explore the lovely town and speak with some tour guides while visiting the castle so they can explain the location’s real history to them.

4. Lake Volta

The largest artificial lake in existence today is Lake Volta. The area is incredibly lovely and a must-see for visitors to Ghana. When the Akosombo dam was built across the Volta river, a lake was created. Additionally, 3.6% of Ghana’s land is covered by it. One can visit Dodi Island when they are there. People have the choice of going on a trip to the dam or fishing in specific areas of the lake. To accommodate visitors interested in spending quality time by the natural seclusion, exotic and opulent hotels have been built close to the lake.

5. Kakum National Park

Ghana is a biodiverse country with some unusual plant and animal species. The Volta area is unquestionably one of the most beautiful parts of Ghana. One must visit Kakum National Park if they want to see Ghana’s rainforests. It covers a considerable portion of southern Ghana. When visiting this location, visitors can view buffalos, meerkats, civets, elephants, and a variety of bird species. A significant component of the national park that attracts many visitors is the Canopy Walkway. To have a full understanding of the location, visitors should unquestionably attend guided tours.
