Exotic Places To Visit & Fall in Love With in Ghana

Ghana is a lovely West African country located along the Gulf of Guinea. It has a rich and lively culture and customs.

Ghanaians are polite and welcoming. Even with strangers, they are polite, open, and trustworthy. It is customary in Ghanaian society to approach life at a leisurely pace and regard time as a sequence of occurrences rather than hoursor minutes.

Ghana is also recognized as one of the world’s most tranquil countries, with residents full of optimism and enthusiasm. Ghana is a terrific spot to visit for travellers, with its sunny beaches, busy towns, friendly people, and simple ways to get around the country.

Labadi Beach

Labadi Beach, also known as La Pleasure Beach, is a beautiful length of the beach in Labadi, an Accra suburb. There are other beaches in its environs, including the Palm Royal Beach Hotel and the Labadi Beach Hotel, both hotel beaches in the same area.

It is Ghana’s most popular beach, having a wide beachfront surrounded by scarce coconut palms and a variety of activities.

Wli Waterfalls

The Wli waterfalls are located in Ghana and contain the tallest waterfall in West Africa. Locals name the falls Agoomatsa waterfalls, which means “Allow Me to Flow.” It is situated in the Volta Region’s Hohoe municipality, the land of the Ewe culture. It is around 280 kilometres from Accra, Ghana’s capital.

A tour through the Agumatsa wildlife sanctuary’s woodland allows visitors to witness a big colony of fruit bats, butterflies, birds, monkeys, and baboons.

Kintampo Falls

The Kintampo waterfalls are one of the tallest waterfalls in Ghana’s Bono East region. It is located on the Pumpum River, a tributary of the Black Volta, some 4 kilometres (2.5 miles) north of Kintampo municipality, on the Kumasi–Tamale route.

This waterfall, one of the area’s primary natural attractions, is concealed in the forest and is created by three main drops, the longest of which spans 25 meters (82 feet) in height, and the river descends roughly 70 meters following a series of stairs and falls in torrents (230 ft).

The relaxing scenery is perfect for leisure activities such as swimming.

Lake Volta

Lake Volta lies along the Prime meridian, just six degrees of latitude, north of the Equator. The lake’s northernmost point is close to the town of Yapei, and its southernmost extreme is at the Akosombo Dam, 520 km (320 mi) downstream from Yapei.

Akosombo Dam holds back both the White Volta River and the Black Volta River, which formerly converged where the middle of the reservoir now lies, to form the single Volta River. Primed for a trip to the dam or relaxation around the many hotels and resorts around.

Kakum National Park

Kakum National Park, located on the coast of Ghana’s Central Region, has an area of 375 square kilometres.

Although it was established as a reserve in 1931, it was only in 1992 that it was designated as a national park following an initial assessment of avifauna. The surrounding region is densely forested.

The park’s peculiarity stems from the fact that it was founded at the initiative of the local people rather than by the State Department of Wildlife, which is in charge of wildlife preservation in Ghana.

It is one of only three spots in Africa with a 350-meter (1,150-foot) canopy walkway that connects seven tree tops and gives access to the forest.

Accra

This is the country’s capital and one of Ghana’s most exciting, contemporary, and beautiful cities. The city is vibrant and has become a destination for travellers across the world.

Accra includes lively marketplaces as well as colonial-era historical structures. You are guaranteed a good time exploring the nightlife, Jamestown and other historic sites. The Makola Market and the National Museum are also some of the city’s must-see staples of culture.

Aburi Botanical Gardens

The gardens were officially inaugurated in March 1890 and are located in the town of Aburi, thus the name, some 30 kilometres north of Accra in Ghana’s Eastern Region. The gardens include 160 acres, with 157 acres set aside and 3 acres constructed for essential infrastructure.

The first thing that strikes you upon entering the garden is the elegantly lined royal palm trees (Roystonea regia) on both sides of the road leading to the car park.

Visiting the Aburi Gardens is a relaxing experience that could help take your mind off the tensions of everyday life.

Lake Bosumtwe

Lake Bosumtwi is Ghana’s sole natural lake. It is located within an old impact crater 10.5 kilometres (6.5 miles) in diameter. It is located around 30 kilometres (19 miles) southeast of Kumasi, the capital of Ashanti, and is a popular leisure destination.

There are over 30 communities near the crater lake Lake Bosumtwi, with a total population of approximately 70,000 people. Abono is the most popular of the settlements where tourists frequently stay.

There are several activities accessible here; In the neighbouring mountains, you may enjoy fishing, diving, boating, swimming, and a hike, depending on your preference.

Mole National Park

Mole National Park (pronounced ‘Moh-lay,’ a nature enthusiast’s paradise! Mole is Ghana’s first, largest, and most prominent wildlife sanctuary, located inside the Savannaland Tourism Destination Area.

The Park is primarily managed for its exceptional ecological, physical, historical, and cultural assets. It encompasses 4,577 km2 of relatively untouched Guinea savannah in northern Ghana.

Tourists can marvel at a variety of wildlife, including the roan antelope, buffalo, elephants, hyenas, leopards, and others.

Lakeside Marina Park

Lakeside Marina Park, which first opened in 2003, is a recreational park in Ghana. With a few of them around, this is one of the most favoured for water-based fun.

The park provides a calm ambience, with well-maintained amenities that guarantee guests have a nice time at all times. If you fancy water activities like canoeing and boating, the park will appeal to you
