Things you can do to relieve stress and anxiety during the COVID-19 Pandemic

With the COVID-19 bringing uncertainty and challenges we have never experienced before, it is completely human nature to be worried in a state of panic this period.

Here are different ways to help reduce stress and improve our general well-being this period.

* Do the things you enjoy and try new things: This could include listening to music, reading, baking, gardening, writing, or learning a new craft.

* Control your workload: Do not take on too much. It is important to balance your work life, particularly if you are working from home. If work is increasing your stress levels, avoid long hours and additional responsibilities.

* Exercise regularly: Physical exercise can help relieve tension and relax your mind. Try to do some physical exercises every day.

* Get support: Simply talking to someone such as a friend, doctor or counselor can help relieve stress. Do not be afraid to ask for support.

* Focus on what you can control: Reduce your stress and anxiety by focusing on things within your control, such as hand washing, healthy hygiene practices, and physical distancing.

* Take care of yourself: Eat healthily, stay hydrated, exercise daily and get enough sleep.

* Stay Connected on Social Media: Social distancing means minimizing physical contact with others, not eliminating connections. Stay in touch with friends, colleagues, and family. You can set-up a phone or video call, send a text or email, engage on social media, or play a virtual game together.

* Protect yourself and others from COVID-19: Health experts have recommended important actions we can all take to protect ourselves against the virus by practicing good hygiene, wear a mask when out in public and social (physical) distancing.
