In the age of social networking and music streaming, a playlist is a common tool for organizing and listening to music.

Whether Spotify, Audiomack, Boomplay, Shazam, YouTube Music or Apple Music, the variety of music streaming apps are impressive. More overwhelming is the tremendous music digital libraries make available at any time.

Nowadays, through MP3 players and smartphones, music libraries can be put into one’s pocket and serve as pleasure while engaging in activities such as workouts, walking, taking a nap, working on the computer and even travelling.

For most people, their choice of a playlist is a significant part of their lives. They listen to a particular genre of music because it affects their emotions and personalities.

Just the way eyes are the window into the soul, your choice of music can be a window into who you are and how you feel. Now, let’s talk about what the songs you listen to say about you.

* Slow Jams: You enjoy the relaxed and smooth vibes of Fireboy DML, BurnaBoy and Teni. You like something you can nod your head to and listen to on the beach, on the move, while cooking or probably working on your workstation. For you, it’s all pure vibes. You are a laid back person who loves to enjoy every moment and quite observant, appreciating the fine details of life.

* Dance Mixes: The likes of Naira Marley, Zlatan, Idowest and Mayorkun’s Geng are your jam. When you put on your headphones or play through the speaker, your life transforms into a music video where you are the centre stage in the presence of people displaying your moves. You are a high-energy person with a passion for adventures and thrills.

* Pop Tunes: You are conventional and not ashamed to admit it. You love easy, happy tunes like Tiwa Savage’s “Dangerous Love”, Kizz Daniel’s “Mama” and Wizkid’s “Joro”. You are the life of the party and you enjoy dancing. You are a social butterfly and enjoy the company of others.

* Rap: For you, there is nothing better than the lyrical contents of Olamide, M.I, Falz, Phyno and Reminisce. You are confident, bold and a ‘lowkey gangsta.’ You have a lot to say and rap is your way of finding expression.

* Rhythm & Blues: If we check your phone, we’d find Ric Hassani, Johnny Drille, Adekunle Gold, Simi, Davido and Timi Dakolo playing on repeat. With these songs, you are transported to a place in your memories or in your imagination where you are the “Orente” that Adekunle Gold crooned about. You are romantic at heart with a vivid imagination and a hopeful disposition.
